August 29, 2005 is a day no one along the Gulf Coast will ever forget. Hurricane Katrina changed lives forever. The devastation left behind was unprecedented in American history. My family, as so many others have suffered our share of heartache and sometimes despair. As always in a situation like that, it brought out the best and the worst in people. God bless all who worked tirelessly rescuing countless people. However, we also witnessed a complete breakdown in civil order. Many people turning to looting and stealing, not only bare necessities but other people's belongings.
After spending years as Sales Manager for 2 local home improvement companies "so called Hurricane Protection experts" I thought there has to be a better way. In the past, homeowner's choices were very limited to hurricane protection and even more limited to security. The question remained, How can I protect homes and not take away the beauty?
